Dubai issued nearly 80,000 UAE Golden Visas to skilled workers, business owners, and investors, an increase of 69% from 2021.
The number of UAE Golden Visas awarded by Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) increased by 32,467 in 2022 compared to 2021, bringing the total to 79,617 in 2022 from 47,150 in 2021.
2019 saw the launch of the Golden Visa programme; more investor and professional categories have since been added.
Investors in real estate, professionals, scientists, exceptional students, and business owners can currently apply for a long-term visa.
The long-term residency, which will draw high-net-worth individuals, and top talent has been dubbed a game-changer for the UAE economy.
Since the long-term residency program’s launch, nearly 44,000 Dubai residents have been granted long-term residency visas since November 2021.
UAE Golden Visa Transactions in 2022:
According to GDRFA, more than 151,600 Golden Visas were given in Dubai between 2019 and 2022.
The authority added that it completed 62.24 Million transactions in 2022.
Up from 37.38 Million the year before, including 46.96 Million entry and exit transactions through ports on land, air, and water.
This comprised 40,642 electronic passport transactions, 37,267 legal consultations, 9.85 Million visa transactions, and 4.49 Million residency transactions.
The GDRFA improved customer services by consolidating five services into one, researching 60 user experiences and consumer satisfaction surveys.
Additionally, it hired a number of Emirati employees, bringing the total number of professionals employed by GDRFA to 124.
Furthermore, the GDRFA’s operational plan was 99% successful, with the Customer Happiness Index crossing 96% and the Partner Happiness Index hitting 100%.
